Positive

<---

Positive, a story of love and abortion, is "a traditional narrative film where the themes are what challenge the audience... a movie where abortion is not a condemning choice, but a personal decision." Directed by Liz Lewis, I designed and produced the logo, invitation, and credits to reflect the look and feel of the film.

UJ&DK Herbal Beers

--->
<---

Uncle Jess and Doctor Kueber make unique, herbal brews. The beer flavors are derived from ancient recipes found all around the world. Described in mythological, religious, and other early records, the recipes use herbs that have natural medicinal properties and create an alternative and experimental taste.

Using the aesthetics of early and folk medicine labeling, the logotype is derived from an early 1900’s typeface that signified medical and pharmaceutical products and services.

Inventing the Undefined

What is creativity? No one has a universal answer, but, as visual artists, writers, and problem solvers, we can each define creativity and creative process for ourselves. Portland Art Museum hosts Inventing the Undefined: a week of lectures, tours, and workshops exploring the evolving concept of creativity.

Unified by the event booklet, other promotional pieces include the flipbook, guerilla chalk, and blank poster campaign. Unified by the event booklet, other promotional pieces include the flipbook, guerilla chalk, and blank poster campaign. Delivered to local creative businesses, the blank poster comes in a boxed set along with a compass and instructions. Each business can leave their own mark on the poster, photograph it and post it to the Portland Art Museum Flickr group. Both the flipbook and guerilla chalk direct people to the Flickr site where they can download, design, and re-upload their own posters. Be Honest Alphabet

Created for Be Honest, Friends of Graphic Design’s annual portfolio review, this sparkling alphabet is a little bit New York, New York and a little bit wild wild west.

Food and Roundness

Roundness is an intentional community, autonomous feminist quintet, and my home. This installation, a representation of our living spaces, focused on how designed objects intersect with the realization and construction of personal identity. Activities and viewable pieces included zine making, motion graphics, people watching, typographic pillows, furniture, and conversation.

Paint swatch inspired zine making.

Prescriptive Images

Even when abstract, restroom signage is always saying something about gender. Prompted by large, graphic statements, viewers are given magnets as a platform to give the old icons new meaning. The magnets are not a solution to the lack of truth in restroom symbols, but are a way to begin questioning the way design effects our lives.

Volare

Volare is an aerial arts and motion company located in NE Portland providing the community with an alternative way to be fit. Volare teaches a wide range of classes from ballet and hip hop to pilates and aerial acrobatics.

Aerial arts, acrobatics, and even exercise can seem daunting and impossible. The logotype is both fun and approachable; the angular letterforms reflect the strength built at Volare. The website splash page reflects Volare by emphasizing the playful, but strong logotype. Photobooth: you move, and you can be a part of Volare. Who Am I?

With the rise of technology and the frequency of which jobs and locations change, humans can easily isolate themselves. By examining my own experience, I suggest two key subjects for the viewer to explore in relationship to themself: community and history.

How hops entered my consciousness. Hop flower (right) and playing cards (left) that remind the audience the essential question: who, what, when, where, why am I? An information graphic beginning with the physical plant then branching out to personal experience and greater historic context. The icons correspond with short stories from my life. Anatomy of Jeggings

What are jeggings? A blend between jeans and leggings. But are jeggings pants? Can they be defined? Or are they just a blend?
